Yep. I love to be outdoors. I’ve always been that way. My Dad gave me an appreciation of nature and the outdoors, and I’m grateful. Now that I’m older, ..... okay much older, I’ve come to realize the health benefits of being in the sun! It was 2005 and I was reading Jordan Rubin’s book, The Makers’ Diet. I found it very interesting and knew that I wanted to implement many things he discussed..
As a matter of fact, it just so happened that it was January 1st, you know the day that many people make resolutions, and well, I wasn’t looking to make a resolution, but as I sat, outside mind you, reading his book, I decided to make some big changes in my diet. He also talked about sunshine and its healing abilities. This is where I learned that we should sit outside 15-20 minutes per day in the sun and one day a week we should be outside ALL day! Why? Here are his reasons:
That was enough for me! So I’ve been trying to get outside daily for at least that amount of time. I’d say though that more than ever natural medicine doctors and nutritionist are encouraging people to do this and for good reason. Detox Natural doctors say the sun can help detox your body! Yes, that’s true. I read that if you get 20 minutes of direct sun per day your body will produce 200 anti-microbials that will kill off bad bacteria, fungus, viruses, and parasites throughout your body!
